About

Daniel Saddawi-Konefka is an anesthesiologist and intensivist at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he has directed the Anesthesiology Residency since 2017. The program has more than 100 residents. He is also Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School.

His research examines how clinicians learn, with a focus on motivation, self-regulation, and feedback, grounded in cognitive psychology and educational theory. He also works on the barriers that keep healthcare workers from seeking mental health care, through research, advocacy, and The Emotional PPE Project, a nonprofit he co-founded in 2020 and now leads.

He earned an MD and an MBA at the University of Michigan, and completed his residency and critical care fellowship at MGH.
